Ministries Serving Liturgy

We provide many opportunities for our parishioners to participate in the liturgical life of the parish.  
Descriptions of the ministries serving liturgy can be found below.

Art and Environment Committee
The Art and Environment Committee welcomes members with and without artistic talent/flair. They plan and create seasonal, major feasts and special occasion decorations for the interior of church. 

Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers are Confirmed parishioners ( 18 years+ ) who distribute the bread and minister the cup at Sunday Mass and special feasts.

Funeral Team
Funeral Team members represent the parish community and provide liturgical service at funerals. They prepare the church for the funeral, welcome family/friends of the deceased, and fulfill liturgical ministries as needed.

Lectors are Confirmed parishioners, with a talent for public reading, who proclaim the Word of God at Sunday Mass and other prayer experiences.

Linen Committee
Linen Committee volunteers wash, repair and iron the linens used at Mass.

Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month to evaluate, initiate, plan and execute liturgy for specific seasons, major feasts, and special occasions.

Liturgy with Children Committee
This team plans four special liturgies each year focused for little children: Fall, Christmas Eve, Lent and Easter Sunday.

Missal Changers
Volunteers gather on a Saturday morning three times each year to change "Today's Missal". 

Music Ministries

Children/Youth, starting in the third grade, assist the priest during Sunday Mass and function as the "Server."

Ushers assist parishioners and visitors to seats at Sunday Mass, major feasts and special occasions.  In addition, they collect financial offerings, "count the house," obtain gift bearers, assist with the communion procession, respond to emergencies, etc.

Weekday Ministers
Parishioners who regularly attend Mass Monday through Saturday mornings and volunteer to fulfill the liturgical ministries: Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Server.

Welcoming Ministry
Parishioners with "warm inviting personalities" who greet and welcome the faithful at the Church doors who are arriving for Sunday Mass.
