Rite of Christian Initiation For Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation For Adults (RCIA) is a process whereby adults (age 18 years and over) who wish to become fully initiated members of the Roman Catholic faith are brought into the Church after a period of time (usually one year) that allows for inquiry into the discussion/reflection of the Gospels. They may be Christians from a Protestant denomination, non-Christian from other faiths, or lapsed Catholic’s wishing to renew their faith.

The RCIA strives to prepare Candidates and Catechumens on both educational and spiritual levels.
