Protecting God's Children

Archdiocesan guidelines require that all volunteers over the age of 18 - catechists, coaches, chaperones, retreat volunteers, etc. - who have not taken this course to do so in order to volunteer.

If you have any questions, please call Janine Matthews at 732-388-7852, ext. 1

The Protecting God’s Children Workshop provides sexual abuse awareness training. This workshop is helpful whether you are a catechist, parent, grandparent, neighbor, coach or friend of a child. Everyone should be aware of the warning signs of child abuse.

How to Report Abuse

The Archdiocese of Newark takes very seriously any and all allegations of sexual misconduct by members of the clergy, Religious and lay staff of the Archdiocese.  We encourage anyone with knowledge of an act of sexual misconduct to inform us immediately so that we may take appropriate action to protect others and provide support to victims of sexual abuse.

Individuals who wish to report an allegation of sexual misconduct may do so by calling the Archdiocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection at (201) 407-3256.
