In the Sacraments, we begin with signs we can see, feel, or hear;
water, oil, bread and wine, human words and gestures.
God acts through the ordinary to make our lives extraordinary.
Blessing and praising God is one way we respond to God’s action in our lives.

Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of healing for those who have an illness of a serious nature.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick calls upon the whole Church to care for and pray for those who are sick or aged or those preparing for surgery.  Through the imposition of hands and anointing with sacred oil, God’s grace and comfort are given to those who seek the sacrament. Through this sacrament they are united to the suffering of Christ and receive God’s grace and forgiveness of sins.

This sacrament is celebrated in the homes of parishioners, in hospitals, and in communal celebrations in church, as announced.
