“Beauty is the splendor of truth”

This ancient Catholic motto tells a lot of what music can accomplish in our liturgies. Music is not a decoration, but intense prayer that draws our hearts and minds closer to the Infinite God!

The St. Agnes Schola

Beautiful sacred music can enrich a liturgy, and as St. Augustine said, “He Who Sings Prays Twice.” St. Agnes is forming an adult ‘schola’ to sing at major solemnities. A Schola Cantorum is a choir that sings polyphonic sacred pieces and chants at liturgies, and we are seeking men and women to fill Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass parts. The St.Agnes Schola will start rehearsing from February 16 following the 9:30am mass. If you're interested in joining, please contact our music director Matteo Belli who will meet with you to determine your vocal part. It’s not necessary one be an experienced musician, but some familiarity with reading music is helpful and the ability to match pitch is required. If you have questions, please contact Matteo at music.stagnesparish@gmail.com.
