Celebrating the Sacraments
Eucharist
The Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ.
When the community gathers to celebrate the Eucharist, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross and give thanks to God the Father for the gift of his Son. By sharing in this sacred meal, we are united in faith and receive the nourishment and strength we need to live as God wants us to live. Join us in Eucharistic Celebration:Saturdays at 5:30pm
Sundays at 7:30am, 9:30am, 11:30am
Mon.-Thurs. at 8am
Masses are livestreamed 8am and 11:30pm on Sundays
Child Eucharistic Preparation
Eucharist is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation. Children usually receive the sacrament of Holy Eucharist in the second grade.
Please visit our Center for Family Discipleship (CFD) page for more information on receiving First Holy Communion.
Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Forgiveness and Peace
When we sin, we turn away from God. When we receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation we experience the loving forgiveness of God. Our relationship with God and the Church is restored. Celebrate Reconciliation:
Saturdays at 4:30pm in the Church, or by appointment.
Child Sacramental Preparation
Reconciliation is one of the two sacraments of healing. Children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to First Eucharist, usually in the Second Grade.
Please visit our Center for Family Discipleship (CFD) page for more information about receiving Reconciliation for the first time.
Confirmation
The Sacrament through which we receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
In Confirmation, our baptismal vows are renewed and we are sealed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, which give us the strength to live as true followers and witnesses of Christ.
Child Sacramental Preparation
Confirmation completes the Sacraments of Initiation. Students are usually confirmed in the Ninth Grade.
Please visit our Center for Family Discipleship (CFD) page for more information about receiving Confirmation.
Adult Confirmation Preparation
Please visit our Becoming Catholic page for more information about receiving the Sacrament of Initiation.
Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of healing for those who have an illness of a serious nature.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick calls upon the whole Church to care for and pray for those who are sick or aged or those preparing for surgery. Through the imposition of hands and anointing with sacred oil, God’s grace and comfort are given to those who seek the sacrament. Through this sacrament they are united to the suffering of Christ and receive God’s grace and forgiveness of sins.
This sacrament is celebrated in the homes of parishioners, in hospitals, and in communal celebrations in church, as announced.
Please contact the office at (732) 388-7852 ext. 1 if you or someone you know would like to receive the healing sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.
Holy Orders
The Sacrament of Service
In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, men are ordained to serve the Church as priests (as are permanent deacons and bishops).
Pastors and parochial vicars provide leadership in the parish community. They celebrate the sacraments, participate in the education of the faith, and grow in love for God and one another through good works.
Men who are interested in exploring Permanent Diaconate or Priesthood are encouraged to contact the Archdiocesan Vocation Office at 973-497-4368.
